Amzur Energy Services
Internet of Things for Distributed Energy Management
What We Offer
Amzur Energy Services (AES) provides Distributed Energy Management, based on open standards, that securely monitors, manages, coordinates, and controls Distributed Energy Resources (DER) – from sensors and switches to controller and cloud. AES offers a comprehensive suite of products for managing energy resources — from a portfolio of properties down to a single building or device. Our submetering platform can provide real-time insight into energy demand by a circuit, load type, department or tenant.

Since its inception, Amzur Energy has been focused on Distributed Energy Resource (DER) communication and control based on open standards.
Amzur Energy Platform
Amzur Energy Platform is an end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) platform designed to manage energy resources locally and globally. From sensor and switch to controller and cloud The AE Platform is a flexible suite of services that monitors, manages, and controls Distributed Energy Resources.
Data Collection
Securely collect data from a wide range of sensors, relays and systems.

Real-time coordination & control. User-defined triggers and thresholds. Reduce peak demand.
DER Interoperability
For equipment vendors
Prior to smart meters and IoT, the only input to OMS was the customer’s phone calls or the utility’s inspection crews. In general, less than 20 percent of affected customers will report an outage for a variety of reasons. The growth in data, such as advanced billing and customer profiling, will advance and support the infrastructural changes. IoT innovation can help companies adapt to these changes and increase efficiency through an IoT-ready communication infrastructure.
For utilities
Currently rooftop solar generation and the availability and capacity of energy storage and other flexible DR assets are operationally invisible to utilities. As DER penetration grows, greater visibility of measurements and near-term forecasts are shown immediately. DER capacity and availability can provide essential situational awareness of distribution grid conditions, enable DER control, facilitate restoration efforts, and improve distribution system resiliency. AE has a flexible software platform, exchangeable with existing systems.
For building owners
For building owners, the AE platform coupled with smart meters and IoT can forecast how much energy you will use, from the next few hours to the next few days. It can also predict how much solar power is being generated and how much energy your batteries are currently storing. Based on a set of rules, if the solar power is insufficient to meet your current electric demand the controller determines when it is best to buy power from the utility or to use battery power.
For system integrators
From grid modernization, distributed energy, and clean energy technology projects to short and long-term strategic planning, you can count on us to exceed your expectations. A flexible IoT platform addresses better management of devices, accessibility to analytics that can provide valuable insight, increase capacity and control of distributed energy resources, and the opportunity to manage demand more efficiently.
Since its inception Amzur Energy has been focused on Distributed Energy Resource (DER) communication and control based on open standards. We developed the solar PV system and devices UML for the US DOE Orange Button initiative (open solar data exchange). We have developed and deployed a software-defined microgrid controller at the University of St Thomas School of Engineering based on OpenFMB. We are actively engaged with the Grid Modernization Lab Consortium (GMLC) and SEPA, developing an energy services interface based on energy interop. We have developed and deployed an energy dashboard for sustainability and GHG reporting based on FSGIM (ASHRAE201) and the Brick schema. We offer a considerable breadth and depth of expertise, software capabilities, and real-world experience in implementing DER solutions.
